
Robert T. Tackman is a lifelong Central New Yorker, experienced public servant, and community-focused leader running for the DeWitt Town Council. With 18 years of experience in the financial industry, along with a strong background in municipal leadership and civic engagement, Robert brings a steady, common-sense approach to local government.
He served two terms as Mayor of the Village of East Syracuse, where he led efforts to strengthen essential services, modernize infrastructure, and maintain balanced, transparent budgets. Beyond elected office, Robert has held leadership roles on several nonprofit boards and advisory committees, where he has provided financial oversight, supported youth and family services, and helped guide long-term planning for community programs.
A proud Eagle Scout, husband, and father of four, Robert believes in local government that listens, plans wisely, and puts people first. He is running for Town Council to bring financial expertise, public service experience, and collaborative leadership to the Town of DeWitt.
