
Tom Carello is a long-time resident of the Syracuse–DeWitt area with a robust background in technology, communications,
and civic leadership. He is a retired Vice President of Sales who managed multimillion dollar divisions for several technology firms, spanning U.S., Canadian, Japanese, and U.K. companies retiring from Kishmish, Inc Syracuse.
Tom has served the community in multiple public service roles. For over a decade he was Chairman of the Town of DeWitt Zoning Board, providing extensive expertise in local planning and governance. In addition, he holds the rank of Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol & 39s New York Wing, overseeing regional operations across five states. A Republican candidate for Town Supervisor in 2023, Tom emphasized fiscal responsibility, transparency, and employee support. He called for strategic audits of town finances and advocated fair compensation for municipal staff, with the goal of improving
services without burdening taxpayers. Tom
values DeWitt for its strong school system and tightknit neighborhoods, many of which appeal to young families just establishing roots. His personal interests include aviation, U.S. military history, and helping on the board of the Jewish home, chairing their maintenance and facilities committee. Tom and his family have lived in DeWitt for more than 38 years, and he is a proud supporter of the Jamesville-DeWitt
Central School District. He believes in
community-first leadership, fiscal accountability and empowering the next generation to lead with to lead with integrity.
